Asmund is growing up! Today as I put him in his car seat he asked me not to pat his bottom--not in the car or outside or going up the stairs etc etc etc. I told him very seriously that I would stop, that he had the right to decide who gets to pat his bottom because that is part of his body. I'm kinda sad--no more baby tush! He's a big kid who's outgrown that!! I'm also pretty excited that I got to...
have an open talk about respecting another person's body, and get to model that for him. As a child who was frequently spanked in the old "pull down your pants and lean over" method, I never felt like I had control over my body. Parents are the people children learn respect from--here's hoping I can give that gift to my kids!
Oh yeah, and Wystan ate a puperoni tonight! He took the bag to Grandma Susan and she thought he wanted to give one to Gabby...no, he absolutely refused to give it to her, and as soon as we gave him a minute, he chomped it. We grabbed it away but that didn't stop him from asking for another. HAHA Carl, I definantly thought of you.
Wystan has started telling secrets. He leans in close, says "ee-kit" and then whispers and grins at you.
This morning's awesomeness:
Asmund: "Daddy, wake up!!"
Dennis: "I want to sleep longer."
Asmund: "It's morning, silly poop!"

From me:
And the light is not working, and this (toilet) is not working, said Asmund. The bathroom light was off and our water is turned off due to a broken pipe.
From Carrie: Haha! The news just reported about payless that a company called wolverine is managing it and Asmund wigged out!
I asked Asmund, "Why can't I be a superhero?" He said, "You don't have wings."
